The Dallas Titans wasted no time taking control Sunday at McInnish Sports Complex, erupting for six runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to a 6-3 victory over the Aliens.
After the Aliens took a 1-0 lead on a passed ball in the top of the first, Dallas answered immediately with its biggest offensive inning of the game. The Titans capitalized on timely hitting and Aliens miscues, scoring six runs despite recording just one hit in the inning. The key swing came from Colton Connolly, whose bases-loaded single drove in three runs and gave Dallas a lead it would never surrender.
Stephen Patterson earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing three runs—just one earned—over seven innings while striking out eight and walking one. He worked around nine hits to keep the Aliens from mounting a serious comeback.
Connolly led the Titans offensively, finishing 2-for-2 with a team-high three RBIs from the ninth spot in the lineup. Dallas also played flawless defense, committing no errors, with Steely Gill leading the club with nine defensive chances.
The Aliens collected nine hits, led by Lukas Adelman's 3-for-3 performance, while Z Kessinger added two hits. Despite consistently putting runners on base, the Aliens were unable to overcome the Titans' explosive first inning.
