The Dallas Titans earned a convincing 14-2 victory over the Aliens on Sunday at Cravens Park, using explosive offensive innings and another strong pitching performance to advance to the Fall Championship Game.
Dallas wasted little time taking control, opening the scoring in the first inning on Bernie Garces' RBI groundout before erupting for eight runs in the second. The Titans received RBI contributions throughout the lineup, including run-scoring hits from Jeff Hanley, Aaron Standley, Korey Gillespie, Bernie Garces, and Greg Kolesar, while also capitalizing on an Aliens error and a pair of productive outs to build a commanding lead.
The offense wasn't finished. In the fourth inning, Dallas added five more runs, highlighted by Aaron Standley's towering three-run home run to right field. Baker added a sacrifice fly, and Kolesar chipped in an RBI single as the Titans put the game well out of reach.
Standley led the offensive attack with four RBIs, going 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and an RBI single. Kolesar, Brenden Monroe, and Standley each finished with two hits as Dallas totaled 11 hits while taking advantage of timely hitting throughout the lineup.
Stephen Alexander earned the victory on the mound, allowing just two runs on five hits over five innings while striking out five. The Titans backed him with flawless defense, committing no errors, with Dana Donato leading the club with six defensive chances.
The Aliens managed five hits, with Eric Perkins and Colin Virag each driving in a run, but they were unable to overcome the Titans' relentless offense.
With the win, the Dallas Titans advanced to the Fall Championship Game, moving one victory away from adding another title to the franchise's championship legacy.
