The Dallas Titans captured their third Fall Championship on Sunday at McInnish Park, defeating the Yankees 6-3 behind a decisive third inning and another outstanding pitching performance.
After two scoreless innings, the Titans broke the game open in the third. Aaron Standley ignited the offense with a solo home run to right field before Jacob Calderon drove in a run with a single. Dallas continued to capitalize on its opportunities, adding another run on a Yankees error before Bernie Garces delivered a two-run single to give the Titans a commanding 5-0 lead.
Stephen Alexander turned in a championship-worthy performance on the mound, earning the victory after allowing just two runs on six hits over six innings while striking out six and walking one. Brenden Monroe closed out the game to record the save and secure the championship.
Garces led the Titans with two RBIs, while leadoff hitter Jacob Calderon collected two hits to pace the offense. Dallas also played flawless defense, committing no errors in the championship game, with Dana Donato leading the club defensively.
The Yankees were led offensively by Denzel, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Irvin Santamaria added two hits. Despite an 11-strikeout performance from Yankees starter Harry, the five-run third inning proved to be the difference as the Titans celebrated another championship season.
